Looking for pregnancy yoga in Bristol? These nurturing prenatal yoga classes are designed to support you throughout pregnancy with gentle movement, breathwork for birth, relaxation and connection with other mothers-to-be. Whether you are new to yoga or already have an established practice, you are warmly welcome here, just as you are.
This is a practice to honour the sacred journey of pregnancy and to take a moment to connect to your body, your breath and your growing baby; whilst building a supportive community of like-minded mamas in Bristol.

Each antenatal yoga class opens with a little check-in - an opportunity for each mother-to-be to share about the highs and lows of being pregnant and preparing for birth. Everything that you are sitting with is welcome in this opening share, as we try to normalise the wild ride of pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
What follows is a grounding meditation where you are invited to turn inwards, to tune into the rhythm of your breath, to soften any tension from your body and to send some love to your baby. We also use this time to practice various breathwork for birth techniques which you might find supportive and grounding during labour, as well as in those early weeks of being a new mother in Bristol.

We then ease into some gentle and fluid movements to help ease stiffness within your pregnant body whilst at the same time helping you connect to your intuition and to what feels good and what doesn’t. During pregnancy yoga, we will explore different birth positions which might be supportive to you during labour as well as create a little more openness in your pelvic bowl to give baby more space to move into the position that is right for them.
The practice ends with a well-deserved rest - some time to lay your body down on the Earth and find some peace, relaxation and holding.
These prenatal yoga sessions also create a space for you to connect with other pregnant mamas in Bristol who are walking alongside you on the path to motherhood - maybe bonding over a cup of tea (if you attend the Saturday session) and building your tribe.
If you are new to yoga then it is generally recommended to wait until 12 weeks to start coming to pregnancy yoga. If you are a regular practitioner of yoga or practiced pregnancy yoga during a previous pregnancy, then feel free to join when you feel ready. It is always good to check in with your body and what feels right for you. If you are unsure, then best to talk it through with your midwife or healthcare provider.
Pregnancy yoga is much more than just “movement” or “exercise” - it is specifically tailored to meet the needs of the pregnant body, including:
Whilst you will still get a lot from attending other yoga classes, especially if you were a regular yoga practitioner before falling pregnant, you might find them lacking in the holistic approach to pregnancy and the opportunity to meet other mothers-to-be. Also, not all yoga teachers are trained to teach yoga to mothers-to-be and they may not have the knowledge on how to modify certain shapes to suit the pregnant body.
Teaching in the gorgeous studio space at Trika means that all props, bolsters, blocks, blankets and mats are provided. You can arrive completely as you are. You might want to wear comfortable layers and bring cosy socks along with you for the relaxation at the end.
"I regularly attend pregnancy yoga classes which have been a wonderful part of my pregnancy, supporting health and connecting with other Mumma’s. Nicole has a wonderful calming and nurturing presence and is a real advocator for supporting women. Thank you as always"
LYDIA, PREGNANCY YOGA
"I attended Nicole's pregnancy yoga classes throughout my pregnancy. They offered a calming space to relax and tune into my growing baby and keep my body moving towards the end. A perfect blend of nurturing body and mind. After each session we shared cups of tea and chats and it's how I met quite a few of the friends I now have in early motherhood which I'm so grateful for"
SOPHIE, PREGNANCY YOGA
"Nicole is a brilliant pregnancy yoga teacher. Through her calming presence and deep knowledge of the prenatal period, she creates a grounding, nurturing environment in her classes through restorative breathwork and gentle movement practices. Every class gave me a much-needed opportunity to step away from the busyness of the working week, slow down, and connect with my body and baby"
FLEUR, PREGNANCY YOGA

A practice where you are invited to pause, to let go of the busyness of the external world, to drop into the body and the breath, to move in a way that feels good to you and to come back home to yourself.
This gentle yoga class opens with a grounding meditation to let go of the day that has passed, to connect with the breath, to invite a little more softness into the body and to notice how you are arriving on the mat.
We then go on to explore some deliciously slow, fluid, intuitive movements alongside holding the shapes for a longer period of time.
This restorative practice ends by laying your body down upon the Earth to be guided through a Yoga Nidra style relaxation in which you are invited to let go of all the doing and simply just be, as you are.
