Who is this circle for?

Mama, do most of your conversations with other mothers focus solely on your baby’s milestones?

Are you looking to reconnect with your identity as a woman moving through her postpartum experience, rather than just as a mother?

Do you long to be seen and held by other mothers whilst you share your inner thoughts, struggles and triumphs?

Are you desperate to talk about the wide range of emotions you may be experiencing as a new mother navigating matrescence, even those emotions which might be considered “darker”?

Do you desire a welcoming community where you and your baby feel safe to show up just as you are, tears and all?

A space where your needs are prioritised but the motherbaby bond is still respected?

Mama, do you long for a calm and nurturing space where you walk out feeling lighter, more grounded, and better equipped to deal with the day of mothering ahead?

If any of this is resonating with you Mama, then we welcome you and your little one into this mother & baby sanctuary, just as you are!

What is a Mother & Baby Circle?

After becoming a mother myself (read more about my journey here), I felt that the conversations with other mothers at various mom and baby groups focused mostly on our babies and no-one was talking about the challenges that us as new mothers were experiencing as we navigated this major transition into motherhood. I longed for a space to go deeper, but I also needed a space where my baby could come along as I was not quite ready for him to be away from me just yet. And so one night (in the dark of the night after another 3am feed), the idea for Mother & Baby Circle was born - a space where mothers can gather with their babies and we can talk about the myriad of emotions and experiences that arise in new motherhood, all with the hope to normalise the early postpartum experience and to provide new mothers with a sense of calm and community. Sat here in circle with other mothers, you realise you are not alone.

"Nicole has created such a restorative and nourishing space with her Mother & Baby Circles. Each session I've attended has left me feeling calmer, more grounded and better equipped to deal with the highs and lows of motherhood. I can't thank you enough for putting these sessions together - they're a real lifeline, especially as a first-time mum. Oh, and your baking is exceptional, too!"

CHARLOTTE, MOTHER & BABY CIRCLE

"Nicole's mother and baby circles are so nurturing and supportive. Nicole facilitates a beautiful, safe space for mother's to discuss and explore the myriad emotions and experiences that arise in new motherhood. I felt a bit lighter upon leaving and connected to the other mothers. I can't wait for the next circle and would strongly recommend to other mothers"

SOPHIE, MOTHER & BABY CIRCLE

"A wonderful space to reflect on ones ongoing experience of motherhood, to share with other women, and to hear other women's experiences. Always leave feeling much clearer and lighter in myself, in awe of all of us mums, and grateful for the space, validation, and support. Crucial!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, this event is for mothers and their babies to attend. You are also welcome to attend without your baby if that feels right for you.

Yes, this is a postpartum support group for new mothers in Bristol. This group is open to all mothers from birth. There will be some very gentle movements, but nothing too strenuous and all optional so you can attend even if you haven’t been signed off as yet to do exercise by a doctor.

Whilst most babies tend to be under the age of one, this maternal wellbeing group is open to all babies under the age of 2 years old.

You are more than welcome to show up just as you are as I will provide all cushions and a few toys. However, you are more than welcome to bring along any additional toys that your baby might enjoy and any additional supports to make you feel extra comfortable, such as a breastfeeding pillow etc.

Everything is completely welcome in this space. If your baby is crying, if you need to walk around rocking your baby, if you need to walk outside, if you need to nurse them, if you need to sit on a chair or on the floor, if your baby is crawling or walking all over the place - it is all welcome. This is a safe and inclusive space for you and your baby to show up just as you are.

Yes, there are changing facilities, however you are also welcome to change your baby right in the room if you feel comfortable doing so.

Yes, there is room to park your pram just outside of the room but still safely within the venue walls. Because the actual room size is quite small, I will encourage you to leave your pram outside, however if your baby is asleep in the pram when you arrive then we will make space to bring it into the room.

As a new mother I completely understand that sometimes our lives are unpredictable and dependent mostly on the needs of our babies. If you are no longer able to attend a circle for whatever reason, I kindly ask that you give me at least 24 hours notice and I will then be in a position to offer to change your booking for a future date that suits you. If you give me more than 5 days notice then I can either offer you a new date or a refund of your ticket price, less the amount of the booking fee taken by Dandelion.

Are you ready to be welcomed into a circle of mothers, just as you are?
