My journey thus far has not been linear, rather it has been a series of spirals as I navigate the many ebbs and flows of life. Along the way I have realised that perfection does not exist and it is okay to hold both the beauty and the messiness of life at the same time.
I have many roles. I am a mother to my young son and a wife to my husband. I am a daughter of the Earth. I am a birth and postpartum doula in Bristol, currently completing my mentorship. I facilitate pregnancy yoga, as well as gentle restorative yoga, and I bring women and mothers together to sit in circle and connect in community. I am originally from South Africa, but Bristol is now the place I call home.
I have a deep relationship with Mother Earth. When I feel scattered and disconnected, I always come back to the knowing that I am being held by our Earth Mother. When I am amongst the trees, I remember that I am not alone. With my feet firmly rooted in the soil, I am able to return home to the innate wisdom within my heart and womb.
Living in alignment with the cycles of life - both seasonal and those within my own feminine body - has become an important part of how I move through the world and how I support others. I hold a deep reverence for the land and remain continually grateful for the abundance of gifts she offers us.
My deepest wish is for expectant and new mothers to nurture their connection with their intuition and trust their innate wisdom, whether in the birth space or during those tender early postpartum days. I want women to know how powerful they are, and how worthy they are of feeling seen, heard, supported and cared for.
It was this deep wish that brought me to the work I do today - offering grounded, nurturing birth and postpartum support to mothers in Bristol and surrounds as they move through one of life’s most transformative seasons.

Like many women, I grew up with the narrative that birth was something either to be feared because it was painful, or something that simply “wasn’t a big deal”. It wasn’t until I listened to a mother share her blissful home birth story that I realised that the stories I had been told about birth thus far were incomplete - that birth could (and should) be an empowering, transformational and sacred experience.
At the time, I was already teaching yoga and facilitating and attending women’s circles, but the call to support pregnant women and mothers was strong. I enrolled in my Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training with the amazing Uma Dinsmore-Thuli, and it was during this training that I first discovered the work of a doula. That training changed my life. After years of feeling directionless, I finally felt as though I had found my soul’s purpose - supporting women through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
But I was at a crossroads - do I become a mother, or do I follow the path of becoming a doula? I will never regret choosing motherhood first. Motherhood gave me a depth of empathy and understanding that can only come through lived experience.
I brought my son earth side with my husband and my doula by my side. Although I had to let go of my dreams of a home birth, I can honestly say that his birth was one of the most transformational and empowering experiences of my life. I met that raw, primal and deeply powerful place within myself, and I was totally humbled by the experience.
After moving through the birth portal myself, I felt an even deeper calling to support women as they navigate their own journey into motherhood. I completed my doula training through Conscious Birthing with the incredible Samsara Tanner, who I am now blessed to have as my mentor.
Becoming a mother has been the deepest spiritual work of my life - the hardest and most rewarding experience I have ever known.
During my pregnancy, I spent a lot of time creating the foundations for a gentle transition into motherhood. Although my birth was complex and required deep integration and processing, I experienced a blissful first 40 days postpartum. But I quickly realised that, beyond my postpartum sanctuary, the modern world was not set up to support mothers. So I turned to nature - our Great Mother. Many of those early months were spent walking amongst the trees with my son asleep against my chest in his sling. As I slowly emerged back into the world with my now 4 month old, contact-napping baby still firmly attached to me, I found it difficult to balance the demands of mothering with the pressure to earn money and show up as a productive member of society.
I longed for spaces where motherhood could be spoken about honestly, spaces where mothers could feel seen in the enormity of this transition and held within community. It was from this longing that Mother & Baby Circle was born, and my work as a postpartum doula deepened.

Today, I have the absolute honour of walking alongside many women as they navigate the rite of passage from maiden to mother. As a birth and postpartum doula in Bristol, I offer compassionate, grounded and evidence-based support throughout pregnancy, birth and early motherhood. I understand the realities of the modern maternity system and how important it can be to bring sacredness back into the birth space - wherever and however you choose to bring your baby into the world.
I have supported women choosing to birth at home and in hospital settings, as well as mothers choosing cesarean births. My support lies with you as the woman, I am here for you! My role is not to tell you what to do or where to birth, but to support you to make informed decisions and reconnect back to the innate wisdom within your body, heart and womb, so that your experience feels truly yours.
I have also had the privilege of supporting many mothers as they find their feet in this new identity as mother. I can relate to both the beauty and the messiness of motherhood - how the tenderness, the overwhelm and the profound love can exist all at once.
Above all, I am here to remind you that you are not alone. You deserve to be held, cared for, nurtured as you navigate this season.
